My husband and I are taking our first ever adults only trip in March. Currently we are booked at the Boardwalk Inn. We are wondering if we should look at the Contemporary? Do you have a preference for the more remonantic of the two hotels?

    Hi Caroline,

That's a great question and I'm sure you might get a different answer from some of my other Disney Parks Moms Panel friends, but I would vote for Boardwalk all the way.

When my husband and I plan an adults-only getaway weekend, we love staying at one of the Epcot-area hotels, either Boardwalk, Yacht Club or Beach Club. We enjoy the atmosphere around Crescent Lake and the ability to walk to Epcot through the International Gateway to taste and sip our way around the World Showcase.

The Contemporary is a beautiful hotel with easy access to Magic Kingdom. While we do often celebrate our anniversary with a romantic dinner at California Grill there, we don't think of the hotel itself as romantic.

So, in my opinion, you've made a wonderful choice. May I suggest a delicious dinner at Flying Fish Cafe and then a nightcap at the Belle Vue Lounge, on the balcony overlooking the Boardwalk and the lake? You also can spend an evening at Jellyrolls piano bar or at the Atlantic Dance Hall, both on the Boardwalk.

(Or, if one of you is like my husband and finds a TV sporting event more exciting than dancing, well, the ESPN Club is at Boardwalk, too).

Wishing you a wonderful anniversary celebration! I suspect that this won't be your last adult Disney getaway. Enjoy!
