My husband and are taking our 4 children in March and I am having a difficult time finding a budget friendly resort to sleep us all. Any suggestions?

    Erin:

My husband and I have four children ourselves, and we learned a long time ago that the cheapest way to stay at Disney was to rent a campsite. But most folks aren't that adventurous--and neither were we. We do take our small camper down to Fort Wilderness and enjoying cooking most of our meals, keeping most trips economical. I am amazed, however, at the number of local weekend-campers who stay at the fort in just a tent. The comfort stations are immaculate, and with March's mild weather, might be something to consider...

But I'm thinking that your first choice may be a hotel room. And honestly, the cheapest way we've found for the six of us (considering that none of the children are in a pack 'n' play anymore) is to get two connecting rooms at one of the Value Resorts. I have found that I can get the best deals at Pop Century if I take a standard room. This gives us the luxury of two bathrooms and enough beds that I don't hear "Mom, he's touching me!!" all night.

The Family Suites at All-Star Music are the next step up. Although a little more expensive, you do get a microwave and coffee maker and the assurance of staying together because connecting rooms are not guaranteed. It is easier on the budget than the new Art of Animation Suites.

Hoping this gives you some choices to consider, and wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
