    Franchesca from IN Asked

My husband had a stroke 3 years ago. He is doing well, but does get tired after long periods of activity. We do not feel he needs any accommodations, but wondered if there are sitting areas in the lines for popular attractions (example: Avatar)

Hello there, Franchesca! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We appreciate you taking the time to stop back by and ask another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort question!

Waiting in line for attractions probably not the experience every Guest is clamoring to enjoy, however, there are quite a few fun, interactive queues that I recommend Guests take an opportunity to enjoy! One of my favorites would have to be the waiting area for Peter Pan’s Flight. This classic attraction places Guests right into the magic of Peter Pan’s world before you even set foot on an attraction vehicle!

While many of the queue areas at Walt Disney World Resort do not feature actual seats, it is relatively easy to find spots to lean against for a bit of rest while you wait. As someone with similar fatigue concerns, I’ve found that it is incredibly difficult for me to wait for attractions unassisted. I highly recommend renting a wheelchair or ECV to Guests that have difficulty standing in line for long periods of time. Using a mobility device has completely altered my own in park experience and allows me to enjoy my time visiting the parks with dramatically reduced fatigue and pain.

There are many different services for Guests with disabilities at Walt Disney World Resort! If you and your husband would like to find one that would better address his personal needs, I highly recommend stopping by a Guest Relations location and speaking with a Cast Member. I know from personal experience just how helpful simply suggestions and accommodations can be when visiting Walt Disney World Resort!

I hope this information assists you and your husband as you continue to plan for your vacation!
