My husband son(2) and I will be going to disney sept 14-21. I was wondering if you could help me plan an itinerary for the week. we are getting dining plan not sure which one. We want to plan all meals too. thanks!

    Hi Jennifer!

September is one of my favourite times of year to visit. The crowds are usually lower and the weather is warm - making it a great time to use the resort pools and even the Disney Water Parks!

If you'd enjoy a few Character Meals with your son, I'd recommend the regular Disney Dining Plan. If you enjoy eating 'nice' meals at table service restaurants at least twice daily, you may even find that the Deluxe Dining Plan is best for you. Some of my top dining recommendations for your family include:

Character Dining: Crystal Palace (any meal of the day), Hollywood & Vine for breakfast, Chef Mickey's (any meal of the day)

Family Dining for dinner: 'Ohana, Coral Reef, Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano

To make the most of your 7 night, 8 day visit, a 6 day Base Park Ticket will likely be what you'll need. Plan on two whole days at Magic Kingdom, as well as a full or partial day at each of the other parks. Given that it's a warm time of year, enjoying some half days (mornings) in the parks followed by some resort pool time or nap time may be just perfect for your young family.

Consider spending Saturday evening at Downtown Disney if you won't arrive in time to visit a park. A full day at Magic Kingdom on Sunday will give your son a magical introduction to Walt Disney World. Animal Kingdom on Monday will allow you a relaxing pace. Tuesday and Wednesday would be great days to visit Epcot and Hollywood Studios. If you decide to add the Park Hopper to your tickets, you'll find it easy to visit them for a half day each on multiple days since they're connected by boat via Epcot's International Gateway. On Thursday and Friday, lighten up the pace and re-visit your favourite parks.

I'm out of space. If you'd like specific attraction tips to help plan your days, please don't hesitate to write me back Jennifer!
