    Fiona from Fife Asked

My husband & I both want to ride Space Mountain but my daughter doesn't, I have booked fastpasses for all of us but it seems a waste of a fastpass for my daughter when she won't ride it. Can you use rider switch with the fast passes? Thanks

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Fiona! My family is a big user of Rider Switch, since we have a little girl that isn’t quite ready to ride even the gentlest of coasters, due to her short stature. It’s a service I know you’re going to love!

In your case, you will only need one FastPass+ reservation for you and your husband to enjoy an attraction (such as Space Mountain). What you should do is to make one pass for your husband at your preferred ride time, and as a family, approach the Cast Member at the ride entrance. Request a Rider Switch Pass, and have your husband take it with him through the queue. He can journey through Space and upon his return to Earth, he will give you the Rider Switch Pass. While he snacks on a Galactic Goody with your daughter, you can take flight in your own spacecraft by using the FastPass+ queue and presenting that same Rider Switch Pass to the Cast Member. You won’t have to have a FP+ ready when you present the Rider Switch pass, isn’t that great? When our family does that, my husband will make a pass for Space Mountain while we ride the People Mover, and then I will make one for Seven Dwarfs Mine train while the rest of the family enjoy Casey Junior’s Splash Station. It’s a great way to move through the park.

If I can help you navigate the baby centers or other park perks, please let me know. Have a magical trip! ~ Lindsey P.
