My husband, and I are planning a trip to WDW this year with our 2 year old daughter. We are thinking of getting the dining plan, but we want the Package Plus Deluxe Dining package. Is this many meal credits too many or will we use them all?

That's a tough one to answer Kerry because it really depends on your family's preferences.  I can tell you that my husband and I are planning a to stay at the Wilderness Lodge this summer and we will be using the deluxe dining plan.  We enjoy trying new restaurants and menu items, so for us, the deluxe dining plan is like a dream come true.  Additionally, we don't particularly care for counter service meals so the flexibility to dine in all table service restaurants on the deluxe plan is a selling point for us.  Also keep in mind that you can use some of your meal credits for in-room dining as well.  That option will cost you two meal credits.  You might also reserve seats at one of the dinner shows and that, too, will require the use of two meal credits.  Of course, Disney's signature restaurants are included in the dining plan and they also will count as two credits.

If you take your daughter to a character breakfast in the late morning, and then visit Hoop-Dee-Doo in the evening, those two meals alone would account for one day's dining credits.  See how easy it is to "eat up" those meals?

A lot of people would say that the deluxe dining plan includes way too much food.  Keep in mind that each of those meal credits entitles you to an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert.  Plus, you get two snack credits per day.  Your decision should really be based on your dining preferences and whether or not you intend to dine in signature restaurants, see dinner shows, or order in-room dining.  If so, the deluxe dining plan might be a great choice for your vacation.
