    Heather Asked

Hi, My husband and i are planning a trip in June and we have a 2 year old and I was wondering what is the best resort should we stay in with a toddler?

    Hello, Heather!

The good news is that every resort at Walt Disney World is toddler-friendly! You really can't go wrong in your choice here.

Look at the list of all your accommodations choices at Walt Disney World. Decide first what your budget is, and target which category of resort you feel most comfortable booking. From there, it's easier to decide the features that your family will most enjoy.

Because you might be spending more time in Magic Kingdom Park than the others, consider looking resorts that are on the monorail. This will enable you to leave the little one in his or her stroller at night (especially helpful if asleep!) when you return to your resort. You may let the little one sleep until it's time to place that sleepy child into bed! (On a bus, those strollers must be folded up.)

Another consideration is if pool time is important. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village, for example, has an absolutely spectacular wet play area, Uwanja Camp, which is adjacent to Samawati Springs Pool. You could easily spend an entire day (or days) there!  Similarly, you can spend hours at Stormalong Bay, a 3 acre water wonderland, which is accessible from Disney's Beach Club Resort as well as Disney's Yacht Club Resort.

Finally, one perk which is being added to all of Disney's Value Resorts this year is a mini-refrigerator. For my family, having a refrigerator in the room has made all the difference in keeping everyone happy and well-fed as we work on varied schedules. If this is of interest to you, call reservations at (407) 939-6244 to inquire which of the resorts you might consider have actually installed these units by the time you're scheduled to arrive.

I hope this overview helps! Please send additional questions as you think of them; I'd love to help you plan the perfect Walt Disney World vacation for you and your little one!
