My husband and I are planning a trip to Disney World at Christmas time. How crowed are the parks then? Thanks

Hello Judy! Christmastime at Walt Disney World is my absolute favorite time to visit. The holiday decorations always make me so happy and I love seeing the huge and intricately decorated Christmas trees. Each tree is themed to wherever it is located, and I especially love the trees at Disney's Animal Kingdom. At Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa there is a life-size gingerbread house that is used as a little store. I always make sure to purchase a gingerbread shingle.

My favorite thing to do at Walt Disney World during the holiday season is to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I love it for these reasons:

*Low-Wait Times- There are only a certain amount of event tickets sold, so in my experience, most of the attractions were walk on with the exception of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and meeting Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall.

*Dream Lights- Cinderella Castle lights up at night and provides the perfect backdrop for Christmas Card photos.

*Snow-  It will snow on Main Street U.S.A, and the best part is it doesn't come with the frigid temperatures! I live in Indiana and I experience a lot of snow so take it from me, snow is pretty, but the cold is not!

*Cookies and Hot Cocoa- Complimentary snicker doodle cookies and a cup of hot chocolate? Sounds like a perfect winter evening to me!

With that being said, crowd levels can vary, but typically the first two weeks of December are moderately crowded with the weekends being a bit busier than throughout the week. After about halfway through December it gets extremely busy. Everyone is getting out of school and on holiday break and Walt Disney World is a very popular destination at this time. If at all possible I recommend not going during the week of Christmas if you are looking to avoid potentially large crowds.

I hope this helps, and if you need anything else, please let us know! Have a magical holiday visit!
