My husband and I are planning our first trip to Disney with our 8 year old. We are on a tight budget. I would like to stick with the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom parks. Any suggestions on where to stay & do we need a car?

    Hello, Janice!

Every visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is magical, but there's just something so special about experiencing the theme parks for the first time with family. One of the best things about staying at a Disney Resort hotel is the convenience of Disney's complimentary transportation service. It all starts with Disney's Magical Express -- a complimentary motorcoach service that transports Guests to and from Orlando International Airport and select Disney Resort hotels -- and continues with bus, monorail or boat transportation to destinations within the Walt Disney World Resort. You are also welcome to bring a car, if you'd prefer. The choice is up to you!

If you'd like to get the most bang for your buck, I recommend choosing Disney's Pop Century Resort or one of the All-Star Resorts: Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, Disney's All-Star Music Resort, or Disney's All-Star Sports Resort. These Value Resorts are a great choice for families that want to stay immersed in the magic on a budget. You can use this handy Disney Resort hotel comparison tool to compare up to four properties side-by-side. It will help you to get a general idea of the amenities, dining and recreation options of each Disney Resort hotel you are considering for your upcoming vacation.

I hope you and your family have a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Janice! Please don't hesitate to stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before your trip. We would love to hEAR from you!
