My husband and I are planning our first Disneyland visit with our 6-year old daughter Thanksgiving week. We have 1 day at the Park - what rides, shows, events should we not miss? Suggested itinerary for the day most welcome!

Hello and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I am so excited that you and your family will be experiencing the Disneyland Resort for the first time! There are so many magical things to see and do, so for your one-day visit, plan to get started early. Being at the park when the gates open is crucial to fitting the most into your day as crowds are the lowest first thing in the morning. I also suggest that you add Disney MaxPass to your tickets if you haven’t already done so. The Disney FASTPASS Service provides a return time to ride select attractions with very minimal waiting and Disney MaxPass allows you to make FASTPASS selections from anywhere in the park on the Disneyland app.

As far as planning your day, I would focus your time on Disneyland Park. My can’t-miss attractions include Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, “it’s a small world” Holiday, Mad Tea Party, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Additionally, Mickey’s Toontown is an absolute must-do for kids. You can explore the homes of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Chip n’ Dale and even meet some of these friends here. I would also plan some time to see A Christmas Fantasy Parade which will march down Main Street, U.S.A. in the afternoon. Finally, if you plan on staying well into the evening, check the calendar to see if there will be fireworks or Fantasmic! the day you are visiting. Both shows are exhilarating ways to end your magical day.

I would love to share even more with you, so please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
