My husband and I are planning our family's first ever trip to Disney , we have twins that will be 5 and a 2 yr old, unsure of what to get as far as dining plans vs a room with a kitchen area also planning on staying at arts of a. Is that a good one for us?

    Hi Kelly,
At one point in my mothering career, I had a two year old daughter and a five year old son; I'm now the mom of a blended family with four kids, aged 15 to 4. We love the Art of Animation family suites! Lots of room for you, your kids and all your stuff and it includes a kitchenette area with a bar sink, a mini fridge, a microwave and the all-important coffee maker! If your little ones wake up and are ravenous from the moment they open their eyes, this might be a good option for you because you can purchase breakfast and snack items at the food court in your resort, a local supermarket or buy them ahead of time from an online service (I know several other panelists really like Garden Grocer) and have them delivered to your resort so you have food available when your kiddos are hungry. Please note that these rooms do NOT have a full kitchen.

The Art of Animation suites are great because they also have a small dining table (that folds down to reveal a full-sized murphy bed, which my kids think is so much fun), so you can actually sit down to eat.

As for the dining plans, it really depends on how your family eats and where you plan on eating. If your twins are light eaters and can typically share a meal, it may not be a great value for you and your family. If you prefer chicken and pasta dishes rather than steak for dinner, paying out of pocket may end up saving you money in the long run. However, if you prefer to know exactly what your food costs will be before departure, it could be a great way for you to not worry about your budget while you're on vacation.

Kelly, I hope your family has a wonderful time visiting the Walt Disney World Resort! Please come back and see us again if you have any additional questions!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
