My husband and I plan for a trip to Disney in Orlando with our 6 months old boy. Since some rides we adults feel interested in are not for infants, we want to know if there's a daycare or any place can take care of our baby temporarily. Many thanks!!

Hi, Lilac!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so excited to hEAR that you are planning your little Mouseketeer's first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!  You are going to love watching your little boy experience the power of magic for the first time!  Even if he doesn't remember much of this trip, I know that you and your husband will make memories that you will treasure for yEARs to come.  Be sure to purchase Memory Maker so that you will have unlimited downloads of your photos of those magical moments.

While I'm sure you will find that there are many attractions that your whole family can enjoy together, there will be some attractions that your baby will not be able to experience with you.  However, that doesn't mean that mom and dad need to miss out on all the fun.  If you will be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel during your visit, in-room babysitting can be arranged through an independent childcare provider called Kid's Nite Out.  These services are available for children ages 6 months to 12 years.  Kid's Nite Out can also be hired for in-park childcare assistance.

Another service that you and your husband may find helpful when you want to experience the more thrilling attractions is the Rider Switch Service.  When you and your husband want to visit an attraction that you cannot take the baby on, simply speak to a Cast Member at that attraction's entrance about using Rider Switch.  The Cast Member will issue you a Rider Switch entitlement.  Then one adult can wait with your son while the other parent waits in the standby queue to experience the attraction.  After the first rider returns, they can take over watching the baby while the other adult uses the Rider Switch entitlement to access the attraction using the FastPass+ queue.  This eliminates the need to wait in the standby line twice.

As you get ready to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth with your son, be sure to check out these Disney Parks Moms Panel tips for traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with infants.  The Moms Panel Extras section of our website also has some great information on vacationing with Mickey's youngest pals.

If you have any additional questions as you plan for your trip, please stop by and visit us again.  See ya real soon!
