My husband and myself will be visiting Epcot in February and taking my parents. My parents can't walk for long periods of time so they will both be in wheel chairs. Do all attractions have wheelchair entries like Magic Kingdom?

    Hi, Marie!

How wonderful that you'll be taking your parents to Epcot next month! I understand what it's like to visit Walt Disney World with senior parents who can't walk long distances or for long periods of time. It's definitely a good idea for your parents to use a wheelchair in this type of situation. Guests are welcome to bring their own personal wheelchair from home. Wheelchairs can also be rented at the entrance to the theme parks. Courtesy wheelchairs are available in the parking lot for Guests to use to travel from their cars to the park entrance. Disney really has thought of just about everything!

There is a lot of ground to cover at Epcot as it is fairly sprawling in design. The theme park is divided into two main areas: Future World and World Showcase. The majority of attractions are located in Future World while World Showcase is home to the country pavilions and their restaurants. It can easily take 30 minutes just to get from the entrance of World Showcase to the opposite side of the lake where the American Adventure is located!

You'll find that Epcot, like Magic Kingdom, is accessible to Guests using wheelchairs. Keep in mind, however, that the type of access at each attraction does vary. You may want to check out the online Guests with Disabilities FAQ for more information prior to your trip. Since it sounds as if your parents are ambulatory and are able to transfer from a wheelchair to a ride vehicle, they should have absolutely no problem accessing any of the attractions at Epcot. Also, if you'll be traveling to any other areas of Walt Disney World, the Disney bus transportation system is fully wheelchair accessible.

Wishing you a magical vacation with your husband and parents! Please stop back in to visit me here on the Moms Panel if you have any other questions before your trip. I would be happy to help!
