Hi Moms! My husband, myself and 2 kids, (11 & 7 ) will be taking our first WDW trip 6/22-6/29 We are planning on purchasing a dining plan, but note sure if we should do quick service or table dining? I say table, my husband wants quick..HELP!!

    Susan:

In my opinion, the Basic Dining Plan has more value than the Quick Service or even the Deluxe Plan because most guests with children would like to enjoy a few Character Meals during their visit (which Quick Service does NOT include) and don't want to spend approximately 1 1/2 hours for each meal on the Deluxe plan.

A good balance is the Basic Plan, which provides 1 counter service restaurant, 1 table service restaurant, and 1 snack a day.  Overall, it saves you about 30% off of your meals, whereas, the Quick Service is less than that--Disney advertises 20%.  One Character Meal will almost pay for your 7-year-old's Basic Dining Plan for TWO days, not just one....

Our family enjoys the respite from the parks that the table service restaurants give--and we don't have to dress up!  Click here for a few other tips on how to make the most of the Basic Plan! And click here and here for Disney Mom Jo and Joanne's thoughts on Quick Service--just for some other opinions!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
