My husband is helping me celebrate my 70th birthday at my favorite place. I want to be there when it’s decorated for Christmas. Would the week of Thanksgiving or the week after be less crowded? We are planning 11/18-11/23

    Hi there, Diane!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Celebrating your birthday at the Disneyland Resort sounds practically perfect in every way!

Disneyland Resort gets decked out for the holiday season starting November 9, 2018. This means you definitely can experience the holly jolly decor and festivities during your November vacation. With Sleeping Beauty Castle dazzling and garland lining Main Street, U.S.A. you will feel the magic of the holidays all around you. I can't wait for "it's a small world" Holiday in Disneyland Park and Season's Speedings in Cars Land. Plus, this time of year brings the classic A Christmas Fantasy Parade in Disneyland Park, a holiday tradition since Disneyland's earliest days.

Since many schools have the week of Thanksgiving off, I would expect the crowds to be fairly high around the holiday. I suggest checking the Annual Passport Blockout Calendar to see which days locals' Annual Passports are blocked. I have noticed that these days tend to have slightly lower crowds.

On busier park days, it's even more essential to add the Disney MaxPass feature to your Disneyland app. This allows you to make digital Disney FASTPASS selections right from your phones, saving you time and footsteps, making sure you can experience as many attractions as possible.

I hope this helps, and please return if you have any other questions. I hope you have a very merry unbirthday today!
