    Jennifer from HI Asked

My husband and I want to go on a date while visiting WDW but we also have two kids (5 and 10) who need to be watched. Can you recommend a restaurant AND a child care center close by? We want the kids to have as much fun as we will have.

Hi Jennifer! A date night at Disney is a wonderful idea! Disney World has some wonderful upscale gourmet restaurants, and while they welcome children and provide kiddie menus and crayons for them, I know it can sometimes be more relaxing for parents to dine without the kids along. My children tried the Children's Activity Centers last year, and after their first night in one, we had trouble convincing them to dine with us again for the rest of the vacation!

My kids' favorite center is the Never Land Club at the Polynesian Resort. They loved crawling through a window to enter the center. Once inside, they were thrilled to find a room of video game machines, a foosball table, arts and crafts, and a dress-up area. They loved watching a movie while they ate dinner. The Never Land Club is generally open from 4 p.m. to midnight.  Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 407-939-3463.

After you get the kids settled in at the Never Land Club, I recommend that you hop on the monorail and head to the California Grill at the Contemporary for dinner. This restaurant has delicious food and its own observation deck with a stunning birds-eye view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. After dinner, you'll be able to get back to the Polynesian to pick up the kids in a jiffy on the monorail.

If you really want to splurge, consider Victoria & Albert's at the Grand Floridian, next door to the Polynesian. This award-winning restaurant has its own website at http://victoria-alberts.com/index.html. Other (less extravagant) dining options at the Grand Floridian include Narcoossee's and Citricos, both of which serve gourmet meals in upscale settings.

Hope you have a wonderful time!
