My husband and I are getting ready to plan our Disney vacation. For the time frame we're looking at, I'll be between 20-30 weeks pregnant with our first. Does anyone have any good advice for being pregnant at Disney?

Hello Catherine!  Congratulations on your pregnancy! As a mom who visited Disney while seven months pregnant, I can assure you that there will be tons for you to do.

My first piece of advice is to just take things easy, and don't push yourself too hard. I found that after walking around the parks for a little while, visiting a show or indoor attraction was a great way to rest my feet and keep my energy up. Getting out of the hot sun and into some air-conditioning is an absolute must to keep from getting too hot and tired! Drink plenty of water as you tour the parks, and stop for little snacks or even take five or ten minutes every now and then to just sit on a bench and people watch.

If possible, consider going back to your resort in the afternoons to take a quick nap, or to swim in the pool to cool off. If you don't want to leave the parks, consider making lunch reservations at some of the table service restaurants so that you can sit in the air-conditioning and have a nice meal during the hottest part of the day.

Definitely check with your doctor before you head down to Disney to get his or her ok on what rides you can enjoy. I was surprised by the amount of things I could still ride while pregnant. Of course, everyone and every pregnancy is different, so be sure to talk to your doctor!!

Consider doing something special for your baby while on vacation. We bought our son his first set of Mickey ears, which he'll have to wear on his first "official" visit. I also got lots of photos with the characters, so that he could look at them one day when I tell him all about how he had been to Disney World before he was even born!

Most of all, enjoy this time with your husband before the baby comes. You could reserve a romantic dinner or even a couple's massage. Take your time and enjoy your vacation at a leisurely pace, and I think you'll have a great time. Before you know it, you'll be visiting Disney as a family of three!
