So, my Husband is finally getting some time home from overseas and we're wanting to plan a trip to Disney that we've had to put off twice. The kicker is we're trying to plan a trip in less than 5 weeks. Any suggestions?

    Hi Melissa,

How exciting to have your husband come home and to be able to take a trip to Walt Disney World! You absolutely can plan this in under five weeks.

I would first check out the Special Offers at Walt Disney World to see if there are any offers that suit your travel dates and needs. You should also start to think about if you would like to book a room-only reservation, or if a Magic Your Way Package, which can also include park tickets and dining, is a better option for you. Once you have taken a look at these pages, I suggest that you call Disney at 407-939-5277. A cast member there can assist you with booking your vacation.

Once you have your resort or package chosen, I think that the next step is to be sure that you have theme park tickets. You may have these included with a package, or you may need to purchase them separately. It will be time to make some Disney FastPass+ selections. These will allow you to experience some attractions with shorter wait times. If you stay at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, you can make these 60 days ahead of your check-in date. If you stay elsewhere, you can make them 30 days ahead of time, so either way you can make them now or soon! Finally, go ahead and make some Disney Dining reservations. I like to have one dining reservation per day on vacation.

All of that said, no matter what you are able to plan ahead, relax and go with the flow at Walt Disney World. You can have a great time even if you cannot do much advance planning. Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Melissa!
