My husband and I have enjoyed many a day/night at Downtown Disney, but this time we'll have a 2.5 year old with us. What activities, entertainment or stores would be suitable for our little one? Are there any shows or play areas? Thanks!

Hello, Julie. I also love Downtown Disney. When I was younger and lived in Florida, I celebrated many a birthday there. While that was some time ago, I still make it a point during our visits to go browsing all of the stores and try new restaurants. Here are some ideas:

*I think you'll end up having to pry your child out of huge toy stores like the World of Disney, and Once Upon A Toy, they are just too amazing! When I took my son he absolutely loved The Lego Store. There are even some really cool Lego models outside. There is the Lego dragon in the lake, a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Lego model and a Buzz and Woody model outside. Those are always fun to look at. One of the other really cool stores is the Build-A-Dino. Its the same concept as Build-A-Bear Workshop, but with neat dinosaurs instead. You didn't mention if you have a little girl or boy, but there is also a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique located at Downtown Disney. If you've got a little princess she would love it! If you have a little superhero, make sure to stop by Superhero Headquarters, a brand new shop with everything Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spiderman.

*Another great idea is to check out the sweet shops. Goofy's Candy Company has some amazing treats and packaged candy. If you are going during a warmer season be sure to try one of the slushies! Disney's Candy Cauldron is another fun sweet shop. In both of these shops you can actually see the Cast Members as they are preparing the treats.

*The Marketplace Carousel is a fun little way to take a break from all of the shopping.

*T-REX, Rainforest Cafe, and Planet Hollywood are all really great kid-friendly restaurants.

*If you are visiting in the evening there is a DJ Kids Dance Party at the Waterside Stage area. During the day there are usually concerts and bands playing here as well.

Im running out of space, but if you need any more ideas, please stop back in to see us. Have a magical trip!
