My husband is a disabled veteran and will be renting a ECV, my question is when we get on Magical Express to the parks, does everyone in our family get on at that time also? There will be 7 in all and a stroller, and should he get a pass for riding?

    Hi Patricia!

It is wonderful that your entire family will be enjoying a Walt Disney World vacation together. Family time is so important and Disney offers so much for all ages to enjoy.

The Magical Express Bus Transportation is available for all resort guests to use from and to the Orlando Airport. Each member of the family must sign up for this service so they receive the proper tags etc. The buses can accommodate wheelchairs but they do not provide them at the airport and you would need to get one there yourself.

The regular buses used for Park Transportation will accommodate wheelchairs and ECV's. There will be a special spot for you to line up which lets the driver know he will have guests who need assistance on his bus. It is recommended that only one other person stay with the ECV while the other members of your party get in the regular line. The ECV will be loaded first before anyone else is allowed on the bus to make it safe for everyone. There should be no issue in getting all on the same bus. Only in rare instances will a bus be overly crowded.

You will not need any special pass to ride the bus with or without an ECV. All buses can accommodate them as well as monorails and the larger boats. Some of the small boats used in transportation cannot allow the ECV's.

Once in the parks stop by Guest Relations to discuss the use of a Disability Access Service Card or DAS. Generally those with mobility issues do not need this service but you can discuss your needs and Guest Relations will be glad to answer all your questions before you start your park day.

    Have a magical time!
