My husband is disabled but not wheelchair bound. He's not able to go on any rides due to back, legs & neck injuries. His injuries don't let him walk for more than 15 mins. Is there a special price ticket for this case?

Hi, Pauline! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for stopping by with your question. At this time, Walt Disney World Resort does not offer a discounted ticket for those that may not be able to ride every attraction. I can certainly understand your worry, but there is a whole World of magic for him to enjoy during your visit. The majority of attraction and entertainment options were designed for all guests in mind. My family has been to many different kinds of theme parks. Some feature mainly thrill rides that even I decline, while others focus on more shows and smaller rides. Walt Disney World Resort is really a great blend between these types. Be sure to look over all of the many shows and live entertainment, nighttime fireworks spectaculars, character meets, parades, and dining locations offered all across the Resort.

I do want to encourage your husband to speak to his physician before the trip to talk about exactly from what he should restrict himself and what he will be able to do. This can help him decide on the best experiences for him. I also want to encourage your husband to stop by Guest Relations in the first park you visit to talk with the Cast Members there about the Disability Access Service. This can help him minimize the time he will spend waiting to ride any attraction he is able to enjoy. Walt Disney World Resort is a massive place and one can cover a lot of ground during a visit! While he is not wheelchair bound, I do highly recommend that he rents an ECV at the parks or through one of the local rental spots. I rented from Buena Vista Scooter Rentals when I broke my ankle a few days right before our summer vacation a couple of years ago. I honestly would not have been able to enjoy that trip without the ECV.

I hope this information helps you plan a pixie-dusted adventure for your husband and the entire family. Please let us know if you have any other questions or need more specific tips!
