My husband has deployed and his finger print is set up to our passes. What do I need to do if I want to take my kids to the park. Will I have to get the cards changed to my fingerprint or can they do an override to let us into the park.

    Hello Heather!

Thanks for visiting us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and an even bigger thank you to you and your family for the daily sacrifices you make for your fellow Americans. Let’s see if I can do a little bit to help you and your children to have a magical visit to Walt Disney World!

While I’m not sure exactly which type of passes you have, Annual Passes or Military Salute Tickets, I think the situation should be the same either way. The fingerprint is captured not when purchased, but when a person enters the park for the first time. So even if your husband purchased the tickets, his fingerprint wouldn’t yet be associated with the Annual Passes or Military Salute Tickets. If this will be your first time using the passes, they will take the scan of your finger when you first enter the park.

If you have already used your passes, you should each have your own fingerprint associated with them. I have never seen Cast Members allowing one Guest to use their fingerprint for the entire family. Cast Members will direct the Guest to touch their Magic Band or ticket to the touchpoint, then put their own finger on the scanner. If they are Annual Passes, and you still feel that your husband’s fingerprint is associated with them, you should take your Magic Bands or cards to a Guest Relations Window outside a theme park, or in Downtown Disney, along with a Photo ID for each adult in your party. If they are new Annual Passes, you will also need to visit a Guest Relations window with a Photo ID to have them activated for the first time. I recommend leaving a bit of extra time in your schedule for this, as it can take a few minutes.

I hope this information is helpful, and I hope you enjoy some well deserved fun at the Walt Disney World Resort. Please let us know if you have any additional questions we can help you with!
