Hello! My husband, daughter (Age 9) and myself will be in Disney World the week of May 19th. We will be staying at DBCR. Can you tell me if this is a good week as far as crowds and give me a suggest for an intineray?? Thank you!!!! We are so excited!

    Hi Amanda,

You've picked a great week to enjoy  Walt Disney World. Crowds tend to be fairly light then because most people have not finished the school year and started summer vacations.

A few notes to help you plan:
    • Sundays tend to be among the most crowded days at the Magic Kingdom, and Monday among the least crowded.
    • Star Wars Weekends begin at Hollywood Studios on May 17 and run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through June 9.. If you love Star Wars, take advantage. If not,  plan to visit during the week.
    • May 19 is the final day of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, so if you want to see all the beautiful topiaries, eat at the special food booths or visit the Land of Oz Garden, that's your day.
    • You can experience all of Animal Kingdom in less than a full day. You might want to schedule that for a mid-week.respite.
    • Check out the Extra Magic Hours during your visit. Parks can be more crowded on those days when Disney resort guests can stay in parks longer, but the extra time also can be a great way to stretch your fun, especially if you are there during a light season as you will be.

My best advice is to sit down now as a family, look through the Disney website and make a list of the top attractions you each want to see. Plan a general itinerary to get them all in. Consider whether you want to schedule a light day or a non-park day in the middle of the week so that you can recharge your batteries.

Be sure to leave time to take advantage of any unexpected opportunities that may come up. That's a big part of the Disney fun.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Enjoy!
