My husband and I are coming to disneyland this week Tues-Thur. Oct. 8-10 and we noticed it is going to rain on Wed. Oct. 9th. What happens at the parks when it rains? Are outside rides shut down?

    Hi, Jill!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your great question. While Disneyland Park will remain during a storm, some of the outdoor attractions may stop operating temporarily until heavy rainfall subsides for safety reasons. The good news is that the parks will generally be less crowded since local visitors aren’t as likely to visit on a rainy day.

There are many indoor activities to enjoy at Disneyland Park if the weather makes outdoor exploration difficult. You could check out The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln on Main Street, U.S.A., browse the many Disneyland Park shops, watch the candy makers create yummy treats at Candy Palace, or explore the interactive exhibits, games and high-tech gadgets at Innoventions in Tomorrowland.

If you’re feeling adventurous, throw on some comfortable watertight shoes and pick up a rain poncho to take advantage of the shorter lines at some attractions! I hope this helps, Jill, and that you have a wonderful visit to The Happiest Place on Earth.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
