Hello! My husband and I have 6 children ranging from ages 13-7 months. We are trying to plan a trip for all of us this year. We want to go in October or November but we want to select the week with the very lightest crowd. Please help!!

    Stacey:

I can see why you'd like to know when the lightest crowd is--you're BRINGING the crowd with you!

Seriously, besides the week of Thanksgiving, the crowds in October and November are moderate. My only footnote to that generality: last year the chatter on many of the Disney fan sites was that Columbus Day brought a lot of "fall break" families and, consequently, crowd levels at the parks were higher around that weekend. Our family was there the week leading up to Halloween and found it more crowded than September, but not as crowded as what we had anticipated after reading some of the fan sites about the week preceding our arrival....

The Food & Wine festival at Epcot during all of October and the first of November tends to lift attendance in that park, especially on the weekends, and Jersey Week usually lands in the first week of November and brings a crowd spike on the weekend. If you were purely choosing a week based on attendance, I'd say the second or third week of November. But if you want precise crowd forecasting, I'd recommend checking out the crowd calendar at www.touringplans.com.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
