My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary while we are in Walt Disney World. I had heard that there is a very informal ceremony available at one of the restaurants called a "Re-hitching Ceremony." Can you help us find it?

The Re-hitching ceremony was discontinued several years ago. It took place at the Garden Grill restaurant in Epcot. Characters would give the anniversary couple extra attention, the server would announce the occasion to the restaurant, sometimes the couple was made to say a few words and a nice cake was delivered to the table.

There are many wonderful places to celebrate an anniversary at Walt Disney World. You can find activities that are complimentary too.

During any dining reservation, you can let the Cast Member know at the podium about your celebration. It often helps to have the occasion noted on your reservation as well. For ultimate romance, try Victoria and Albert’s at the Grand Floridian. Dine at any of the restaurants at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian and then watch the fireworks show from the beach.

We have dined at Cinderella’s Royal Table for an anniversary and received special table decorations as well as keepsake champagne flutes. If you let Cast Members know at your resort, restaurants, etc, they often will surprise a couple with autographed character photos, complimentary dessert and/or flowers delivered to your room.

If you are looking for some thing fun and low-key, try the Whispering Canyon Café at the Wilderness Lodge. Announcing an anniversary to your server, may get you some humorous antics.

Wear Mickey bride and groom ears for the most attention! We’ve enjoyed many wedding anniversaries at WDW, including being serenaded by the group “Four for a Dollar” before the Beauty and the Beast Show. The Cast Member put us in VIP seating, then called us to the stage and the group sang “When You Wish Upon A Star” to us. All of this for arriving early to the show and raising our hands when asked if anyone was celebrating a special occasion. Anything is possible!

    Enjoy your very special anniversary!
