    Lu from MI Asked

My husband & I will be celebrating our anniversary during our trip to Disney this winter, and we've read to mention it anyplace that we go in Disney to receive special treatment. Do you know what any of these "perks" might be?

    Lu,

My husband and I have celebrated our anniversary in Disney many times, and it's a great place to be for a special occasion.

You should ask at the front desk of your resort or at guest services in the parks and get Anniversary pins for you and your husband to wear.  Many Cast Members will wish you a happy day when they note the occasion you are celebrating.  Also mention your anniversary on your room reservation and on dining reservations.  Some places (like Chef Mickey's) have complimentary cakes to acknowledge your event.

As for the "perks", well those are not ever guaranteed and more than likely will not happen.  I hate to be a downer, but I do want you to have realistic expectations.  Occasionally people have received things like a balloon bouquet, a cake, a trinket, etc., but this is by far the exeception and not the rule.  There are just way too many people passing through Disney World every day for them to possibly "pixie dust" everyone's special event.

You can contact the Disney Florist at 407-827-3505 or check out their website at www.DisneyFlorist.com to make arrangements for a special basket to be delivered to your room.  This is at your own expense of course and does not have to be flowers.  You can get champagne, chocolates, fruit, gift certificates for couples spa treatments, etc.  Also be sure to treat yourselves to a romantic dinner and celebrate your milestone.  With or without the special treatment, it's something to be proud of.

    Enjoy your trip!
