My husband and I are bringing our little ones back in March 2020 and are looking to do a Disney VIP Tours. What are the benefits of the tour and is it worth the cost?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elisabeth!

I’m so happy to hear you’re coming back for another magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! My family returns again and again, and there are always more magical moments awaiting us – it’s truly our happy place.

There are several VIP Tours to choose from, though with little ones who may not meet the height requirements for more thrilling rides, I’m guessing you’re looking at either a Private VIP Tour or the Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour. My family was lucky enough to spend the day with a Private VIP Tour Guide a few years ago, and it was truly an unforgettable day.

Our VIP Tour Guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and very happy to share lots of great trivia and tips with us. We rode both tracks of Space Mountain, and she pointed out the differences. She took the kids on Toy Story Mania! and taught them all the tricks for getting a high score (which they use to beat me to this day). She hunted for hidden Mickeys with the kids and pointed out so many fun things we might have otherwise walked right past. She recommended her favorite snacks, strategies for touring the theme parks with lower waits, and made us feel like insiders by sharing fun little-known facts and details.

We were able to walk into the FastPass+ queue for any ride we wanted, and ride a maximum of twice in a row. When we visited, waits were very long to see Queen Elsa – our son’s absolute favorite – and our Guide made us a very special appointment to see the Queen with a minimal wait. We were also able to watch the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade from the elevated area at the train station, where we were eye-to-eye with characters on the floats – Pluto made my daughter’s whole trip when he blew her a kiss.

On a practical level, our VIP Tour Guide made our day so smooth and easy. She knew her way around the parks so well, so we didn’t waste much time checking things off our list, looking for restrooms, or even dining. She parked our stroller for us at every attraction. When we park hopped, we entered from a backstage area, and her vehicle was equipped with exactly the car seats we needed. When you book your tour, you’ll talk with a VIP Services Cast Member about what you want to accomplish in your day, and your Guide will take care of the details so you can focus on the magic.

Elisabeth, our tour was a gift, so it was absolutely worth the cost to us! Since you have little ones, I would encourage you to think about what you’re hoping to do in a day, since the attractions your little ones love may not have long waits in the first place. You might also want to think about whether a 7-hour tour is something your children can do without breaking for a nap; if they do need a mid-day break, the Ultimate Disney Classics VIP Tour might be a great choice. If you need help deciding, or have further questions, you may reach a Cast Member in VIP Tour Services at (407) 560-4033.

Have SO much fun with your little ones on your upcoming return to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Please come back and see us if we can help as you count down and do your Disney dreaming.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
