My husband and I along with our two boys age 4 & 3 are planning to visit WDW in July 2011 for the first time. I'm seeking recommendations on Hotel & theme parks activities etc. Help me get started. Thanks

Walt Disney World has basically 3 tiers of resorts:  value, moderate, and deluxe & deluxe villas. While they all capture the magic of Disney, the amenities change as you move up as well as the costs. Some of our family favorites (all sons, too) have been All-Star Movies (value), Port Orleans Riverside (moderate), Caribbean Beach's pirate rooms (moderate), Animal Kingdom Lodge (deluxe), Wilderness Lodge (deluxe), Polynesian (deluxe), & Yacht Club (deluxe). Because I'm not sure what your budget is, I'd encourage you to explore the resorts and the costs.  And the good news is that there is a current promotion for a discount on the deluxe rooms!

Similarly, you want to start exploring the attractions at the theme parks to see what would be appropriate for your children.   As you are finding things of interest, I'd encourage you to make the customized maps that are FREE!  I'm also a big fan of touringplans.com, which helps to provide itineraries for families to help you make the most of your days at WDW. It does have a small cost, but well worth it, I think.

I realize I'm just scratching the surface for you with your planning, but I'm limited on space. I'm hoping this can get you started and then please don't hesitate to ask more questions.
