We are huge disneyLAND fans and frequent the park several times a year. We have the opportunity to visit one of the orlando parks for one day and can't decide which one to go to. Will magic kingdom make us frustrated because it's similar to our loved?

    Hi Talina,

I think you've already found a big difference in the parks - the Disney World Moms Panel! Welcome! We're here to help you every step of the way while you plan your trip.

I grew up visiting Disney World. When I got married, we did a bi-coastal Disney honeymoon (it was before CA Adventures opened). We spent some time at Disneyland, recharged and went to Walt Disney World (WDW).

I was never worried that I would be disappointed with Disneyland after growing up with Disney World. Being a HUGE Disney fan, I looked forward to seeing the original Disney Park in CA. It was sacred ground to me because its where the birth of the Disney theme parks started & Walt spent a lot of time there. While he never saw the opening of Disney World, its special to me because Walt spent his last days planning & envisioning ideas for his new park.

When we were at Disneyland, I loved looking for differences in the parks. Even attractions that are similar (i.e., Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, "it's a small world") are different at both parks. It was cool to see a different spin on my old favorites. It was also great to see attractions that we didn't have at WDW (i.e., the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones Adventure).

The Magic Kingdom at WDW is larger - after all, they had more land to work with - so you may find it a little overwhelming when you first arrive. Relax, have fun & rest assured the Disney Magic is alive & strong at WDW too. You may walk away with your loved Disneyland still being your favorite. But if you are a true Disney fan, I think you will really enjoy the Magic Kingdom & be glad that you took the opportunity to visit.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
