My Hubby and I will be celebrating our anniversary February 2015 when we stay at Wilderness Lodge with 8yr old dd. Any suggestion of romantic but not totally boring places to eat for a special dinner- us and an 8 year?

    Hi Patricia,

Happy anniversary in advance! My husband and I have celebrated many anniversaries at Walt Disney World. My favorite romantic spot is always the California Grill atop the Contemporary resort. The atmosphere and food are spectacular, and so is the view of Magic Kingdom and of the Wishes fireworks. We've been taking our daughters there for years and, while it is romantic, it is also inviting for youngsters. And the promise of fireworks is always enough to keep a child entertained through dinner.

One of the wonderful things about Walt Disney World is that virtually all of the restaurants are child-friendly, even if they are upscale. Other thoughts:
    • Flying Fish Cafe at the Boardwalk resort, where you can take a stroll among the street performers after dinner.
    • Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian, where you also can view Wishes. Plus everything about the grounds at the Grand Floridian seems romantic to me.
    • Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge, where you can view animals on the savanna before or after dinner.
    • The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Cafe at Downtown Disney, where you can overlook the lights of the lake and then take a ride in the Characters in Flight balloon.

I hope that gives you a few ideas. Please let me know if you have any other questions about dining or celebrating at Walt Disney World. I'm happy to help. Enjoy!
