A Ride in the Teacups

My hub and I are taking our two kids (5 and 3) to Disneyland at the end of May. However, he will have to work one of the days. If I take the kids to Disneyland by myself, will we be able to go on any rides? Or are they all set up for two people?

    Welcome, Rebekah!

I've been in your shoes! My family and I go to Disneyland quite a bit since we have family in Southern California. I remember back when my kids were much younger, around your kids' ages, and my husband had to work remotely one day during our trip. It was still a really fun day for the kids and me at Disneyland Park!

There are so many attractions that seat the whole group together. I'm thinking specifically of those that are perfect for preschoolers and young kiddos like yours in Disneyland Park. Some favorite attractions for that age group feature ride vehicles that seat the whole family, across a bench like "it's a small world", Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and the Disneyland Railroad. Others can certainly fit one adult and two small children either in the same one-row car or two kids in front of you but in the same two-rowed car like Alice in Wonderland, Haunted Mansion, Mad Tea Party, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio's Daring Journey, and Snow White's Scary Adventures. Those are more rides than you'll be able to squeeze into one day with two little ones in tow, Rebekah, so you'll have no problem making the most of your day together. And I didn't even mention the amazing shows, Character Greetings, and Mickey's Toontown, all of which you can enjoy no matter how many are in your group.

Now, if any of your kiddos are tall enough and up for some of the more thrilling and adventurous rides, you might want to save those for a day when your husband is with you so you can each be in a seat with them, or one adult can ride with the adventure seeking child while the other one of you waits with your other child.

I hope that relieves your fears of taking your children to Disneyland Park while your husband is working, Rebekah. I like to squeeze in as much Disney magic during our visits as possible, so even when my husband couldn't join us, nothing was stopping me from taking the kids on my own. And boy did we create some really magical memories!

Have so much fun on this big adventure!
