Mom and Dad planning vacation

Howdy, I have a friend not staying at a Disney resort. He will be arriving April 2020. Can he make ADR's if he is not staying on Disney property? If so, what is his time frame 180 days? But then again if he is not residing on Disney property ?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Richard!

How exciting that your friend is planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort next year! While you definitely know firsthand that there are plenty of benefits to staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, he can still have a great vacation staying somewhere else, so let's chat about how your friend can make his upcoming advanced dining reservations for his vacation next year.

All guests are able to make dining reservations 180 days in advance of the day they'd like to dine, regardless of where they are staying. Guests of Resort Hotels get the benefit of being able to book reservations for the following 10 days after their arrival date at the 180 day mark, which is not possible if you're staying at an off-site hotel. For example, when his booking window opens up on October 13 of this year he'll be able to book for the first day of his vacation, on October 14 he can book the next day, and so on. If he's staying for a few days and he wants to book each day as it becomes available, he will need to make those reservations one day at a time as they open up. He will go through the exact same process when it comes to making his FastPass+ selections, which he's able to do 30 days in advance of each day he's going to spend in the theme parks.

I hope this answers your question, Richard, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
