Which hotel do you recommend staying in for two 13 year olds 1 gr/ 1 by? We have stayed in the music one before but would like to go to the next level of hotels. Any suggestions for one that is still budget friendly?

    Hello Mary,

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can be so much fun and choosing your resort hotel is a crucial part of that process, since many things can revolve around that choice. It sounds as if you would possibly like to consider a moderate level resort. My personal favorite is Disney's Port Orleans Resort.

This resort is split among two different areas. First, there is Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside, which is themed after the southern bayous with its plantations and Cajun low-country cabins. Then, there is Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter, which has more of a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme. While both are excellent choices, my favorite area is the Riverside side of the resort. It is filled with a relaxed southern and quiet charm. Even though it is spread out, it is still very easy to get around and has several bus stops throughout the resort for convenient bus transportation. Speaking of transportation, there is a boat that can take you from this resort to Downtown Disney, which has tons of things for teens to enjoy, including DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park and Splitsville Luxury Lanes.

You can also find lots of recreational activities at the Ol' Man Island pool area, including catch and release fishing using old-fashioned fishing poles. There are jogging trails and surrey bikes for rent so that you can explore the resort on foot or by pedal. Whether you choose Riverside or French Quarter, you must try the scrumptious beignets (fried pockets of dough) over at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory on the French Quarter side. I make it a point to get these at least once or twice when I stay there. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

I hope you will consider this wonderful resort as you begin your planning process. Feel free to stop back by if more questions arise. We are always here to help.
