Hi we were hoping to visit disney in october/november 2014 and my son will be 21 months, i was wandering if there is much for him to do at that age?thanks

Hi Laura!  You've definitely come to the right place for advice- almost all of us on the panel have taken little ones to Walt Disney World. When kids are around 2, they can sometimes be wary of new experiences, or, eager to explore all that they can. Since each child is different, you may have to wait until you arrive at Walt Disney World to see if your little one wants to interact with the characters, or would rather greet them from afar.  That being said, there are still lots of opportunities for your toddler to have fun and enjoy themselves.  Parades are often greatly enjoyed by little ones, while fireworks tend to be a bit more of an issue - the loudness of the fireworks was always slightly frightening for my kids, so maybe bring a pair of earplugs if you think that may be helpful.  With the exception of the roller coasters and a couple of other attractions,  most rides at Walt Disney World are toddler friendly.  He can ride along with you and your husband without a problem. You'll also find that Magic Kingdom has plenty of small-child friendly ride options like It's a Small World, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh.

Laura, so many people think they should wait until their child is older and "can remember" their visit to Walt Disney World.  I can tell you from personal experience that the memories that my husband and I have experiencing Walt Disney World through the eyes of a small child, the wonder, delight and innocence, have definitely made me an advocate for not waiting.  While it's true that your little guy may not remember this trip, our memories as parents are just as precious and important,  don't you think?

I would be happy to answer any further questions you have while planning your Walt Disney World vacation for next year.  Please don't hesitate to ask me, as I would be happy to help!  Have a magical day!
