We’re hoping to celebrate our daughter’s 3rd birthday with a Disney trip! Would she need her own ticket if we go on her actual birthday? How would it affect Disney resort pricing if her birthday is in the middle of our trip?

    Hiya, Leyna!

A vacation to the Disneyland Resort is a Fantasmic! way to celebrate a birthday. Pricing out tickets for the trip depends on the way the vacation is booked. If the trip is booked as a Vacation Package, the age of each guest at the beginning of the vacation is locked in for the duration of the package. In such a case, a two-year-old who celebrates her birthday during the trip would not require a theme park ticket. When tickets are purchased separately from a Vacation Package, each guest aged three and older will require a park ticket. In such a case, a child who turns three during a multi-day visit would only need a park ticket for the days after completing three years of age. I recommend pricing out the available options to see which way makes the most sense for your budget.

I’m certain your daughter will love celebrating her birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth. I recommend picking up a complimentary birthday button at one of the main Guest Relations locations. In fact, go ahead and pick one up even before her birthday. Celebrating the special day during the entire trip is a great way to make the visit even more memorable. The Cast Members who see her birthday button tend to go out of their way to make her feel special. That is especially the case at table service dining locations.

There is plenty to do with your preschooler at the Disneyland Resort. My friend Jennifer has several great tips for visiting Disneyland Park with a preschooler. Disney California Adventure Park has its share of fun for little Mouseketeers too!

I’m wishing your daughter a very happy birthday. I hope you all have a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah time, Leyna!
