    Aaron from TX Asked

Is Hollywood Studios a new park or the old MGM park?

    Hello Aaron!

Walt Disney World changed the name of Disney MGM Studios to Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2008. So, while it would be truly MAGICAL to think there were five Disney Parks at Walt Disney World, there are only four.

As I was doing research on this answer, I did find a very cool quote from Meg Crofton, the current Walt Disney World President of Operations in the US and France.  In 2007, she gave the official reason why Walt Disney World changed the name to Disney's Hollywood Studios:

"The new name reflects how the park has grown from representing the golden age of movies to a celebration of the new entertainment that today’s Hollywood has to offer—in music, television, movies and theater.”

If you have other questions, please let me know!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
