Hiya pal! I’m interested in signing up for a 5k at a runDisney event. I’ve never done this before, but I know these events can sell out quickly! What do I need to know and do in order to make sure I can sign up for a 5k? Thanks so much!

    Hiya Michelle!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so glad to hEAR you are interested in participating in your first runDisney event! I'd love to give you some pointers to make sure you are able to register for an upcoming 5K.

The first thing I would do is review the 2018-2019 RunDisney Calendar with registration dates. Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will be November 1-4, 2018 and goes on sale March 13, 2018. Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will be January 9-13, 2019 and goes on sale April 17, 2018. Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will be February 21-24, 2019 and goes on sale June 12, 2018. Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend- The Dark Side will be April 4-7, 2019 and goes on sale August 7, 2018. These were recently released on the runDisney Facebook page, but are subject to change. In addition to these the Star Wars 5K for 2018 is also still available for registration, but this can sell out at any time! Prior to registration I would recommend creating an account at Active.com with your full information. This will help to expedite the registration process when it opens. Historically, registration for these events has opened at noon EST, so I would set a reminder on your phone a few minutes before to make sure you are online and logged into your account. I would also follow along on social media where runDisney frequently posts updates and reminders for registration!

Please come back and let me know if you have any other questions before your registration!
