Hi we are taking our 3 kids (girl 5 ,boy 7, boy10 ) to WDW for the first time. we have 6 park passes, we will have half a day and 5 full days. Which out of the 4 parks should we spend the extra half a day at? any other help for first timers would be great

    Hi Jennifer,

Oh, boy, you must be simply ecstatic about your first Walt Disney World vacation. Your kids are going to have such a magical time and as a parent, the experience will be just as special as you watch their excitement while experiencing your own!

Magic Kingdom is my personal favorite and is such a great park with something for everyone. My family always tries to spend at least 2 days there, but at the very minimum a day and a half! It has everything from princesses and fantasy for your daughter while also appealing to your sons with Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I, too, have an almost 10 year old boy and a 6 year old girl and they loved playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, an interactive game throughout Magic Kingdom. I would highly recommend this to your kids. It is a great way to explore the park in between rides, as well as seeing some of the hidden or often overlooked areas of the park. It is complimentary with your park admission. Be sure to head to the Firehouse on Main Street USA when you first enter to get started. Then, you can go at your own pace as you visit Magic Kingdom.

Lastly, my biggest tip for first timers is to remember to have fun and don't get stressed out about not getting to everything. I have been numerous times (often too many to count) and still haven't done it all. Have a simple plan of 3-5 must-dos at each park and make a plan to work your daily schedule around those, the rest is icing on the cake. Also, remember to savor those "small moments" like watching your kids laugh at the street performers or the look on their face riding their favorite ride or meeting their favorite character. Those are the moments that you'll cherish long after your vacation.

Have a magical trip and feel free to stop back by and ask me more questions you might have.
