Hi, We are taking our first trip to WDW the week of the 4th of July, I am wondering wear and what time is the best to meet different characters around each parks I have a 7 year old son who would love to meet characters from Star Wars and toy story.

    Hi Elizabeth,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am delighted to greet a fellow North Carolinian. Congratulations on planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

There are a variety of character experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort. One of my favorite strategies for making sure our girls meet their favorite characters is to book dining reservations for Character Meals. Some of our favorites are Chef Mickey's and Hollywood & Vine.

Since your son is a Star Wars fan, please pass this special message to him. The galaxy is in desperate need of new Jedi recruits. When you arrive, proceed directly to Disney's Hollywood Studios prior to park opening. As soon as you can enter, go directly to the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost. Here your son can join the next class of recruits for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. Training spots fill quickly. If he is certain he wants to embark on this difficult journey, book an Advanced Dining Reservation at a time prior to park opening. We have strategically dined at Hollywood & Vine to get into the park early and be first in line for Jedi Training sign-up. Remember, your new recruit must be with you to commit to training.

Should he pass this trial, there are other Star Wars adventures he may experience. Our girls love Star Tours - The Adventures Continue!

Every Jedi in training needs a break, however, While at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can ride Toy Story Mania! He can also meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody at Pixar Place.

    Happy Planning!
