Hi, We are planning a Walt Disney trip in April and are staying at a resort outside Disney World. We are getting a 3 day park ticket and I want to book the Mickey Backyard BBQ dinner show, do I need to use one of my park tickets to get into the dinner show

    Hi Joanne,

No worries! Mickey's Backyard BBQ takes place at the Fort Wilderness resort, which is across Bay Lake from Magic Kingdom. You do not need to enter Magic Kingdom to attend the barbecue, so no ticket is necessary.

You should make an advanced dining reservation for the barbecue, and advance payment is required.

I assume you will be driving from your hotel. Simply follow the signs to Magic Kingdom. When you reach the gates where you pay parking, stay to the right and let the parking attendants know you are going to Fort Wilderness. They will point you in the right direction, and you won't need to pay for parking.

At Fort Wilderness, you will park near the Outpost and catch a shuttle to Pioneer Hall. The Backyard Pavilion is nearby.

You'll want to allow plenty of time for transit, and it's good to arrive early. If you have extra time, there's plenty of space to relax in the serene surroundings: rocking chairs on the porch of Crockett's Tavern and picnic tables near the playground.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Joanne. Please let us know if we can answer any of questions for you as you make your Walt Disney World vacation plans. You're on your way to a magical visit!
