Hi, We are coming from the UK to Port Orleans FQ for two weeks in August with a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old. At home they are usually in bed by 7pm, but we are hoping that we can take them to the fireworks and evening parades. Anyone got any advice?

    Hi Sonia,

I used to live in England and travel to Florida on vacations so I know how it feels with the jet lag (not fun!), especially with young ones in tow.  Because you will be there for a couple of weeks it will be much easier for you to take your time and relax so you can climatize and get used to the time difference without burning yourselves out.

I would definitely suggest going back to your resort everyday in the early afternoon (around 1:00 pm ish) and have a nap with the children.  This will be close to the time in the UK when they would normally go to bed in the evening and with a few hours sleep, I think they will more easily get on a schedule for Florida time without getting sick and cranky so you can enjoy the evenings at the Parks for the duration of your stay.

I hope you have a wonderful time at WDW and be well rested so you can soak up all the MAGIC that lies ahead for you all!  That's what vacations are for, right?

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
