Hi! Visiting WDW in January 2012 to celebrate my son's ninth birthday. he is a mature nine year old, so I am wondering about a good choice for a dining experience for him. Thanks!

    Hi Beth,

It sounds like you're interested in an experience other than a meal with characters. Although my 11-year old son finds Chef Mickey's fun, he appreciates a good meal at Les Chefs de France too.

For special birthday, I would suggest dinner at the California Grill overlooking the Magic Kingdom. The views are inspiring and  you can also see the fireworks from the outdoor deck.

Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian is nestled near the water with views of Cinderella's Castle. This is also a special dining spot and you could arrive here by boat!

A boat ride to the Wilderness Lodge for a meal at Artist Point would also be a fine dining experience.

If you'd like to dine inside a park, head to Epcot for dinner at Bistro de Paris or Le Cellier. Afterwards, see IllumiNations.

Happy birthday to your son! January is a wonderful time to visit WDW due to low crowds.
