historically, what is the weather like in early October? we are planning a trip in 2016 for my daughter's 5th birthday and want to be (somewhat) prepared.

    Tim:

I've visited Disney almost a dozen times in late September through October. Although the weather can be somewhat unpredictable for its high temperatures that can soar in the mid-90's, I've mostly worn shorts during the day and carried a jacket in the evenings but rarely worn it.

You'll find that the average temperatures are in the high 80's and the lows in the low 70's. Hurricane Season will still be around, and you may experience scattered thunderstorms, so I recommend taking a small umbrella and poncho. The parks stay open regardless of rain. Children will find it adventurous to get to play in the rain, so don't let an afternoon shower deter your fun.

Wishing y'all a magical vacation and very happy birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
