    Michael Asked

Hi, Our 60 Day FastPass date is approaching. We are a family of 4, DH, DW and 2 children at 5 years old and 2 years old, so only able to book for 3 of us. Does everyone in my party need a FP to attain a rider swap? Or can I book a FP to use for DD2?

    Hi Michael,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

First, because your 2 year old daughter doesn’t need a Theme Park Ticket to enjoy all that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, you don’t need to make a FastPass+ selection for her to be able to accompany you on any attraction where she meets the height requirement. This was GREAT news for my little guy because he could take turns riding the Tomorrowland Speedway with my husband and I as well as with each of his grandparents, for a total of 4 trips through the FastPass+ line!

As you likely know, many of the most popular attractions in Walt Disney World’s Theme Parks offers something called Rider Switch, which allows two or more adults to take turns waiting with children who are too small to experience an attraction (or any other Guest that doesn’t wish to do so), without the need to wait in line twice. My husband and I have used it several times with our little one and it’s been a great way to get to see and do attractions that he isn’t tall enough (or willing) to experience yet.

Many attractions have different policies with respect to how to get a Rider Switch pass. Some will give them to you at the entrance to the attraction, others will require you to be almost boarding the attraction before you can get the pass. Because of this, I would recommend that all of the members of your party that want to experience a given attraction hold a FastPass+ selection for it on the same date and time.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit.

    Have a Magical Day,
