Hi, Myself and my husband are taking our two children in October for a surprise Halloween holiday (it's one of our favorite times of the year) We are looking into getting a family suite but not sure which hotel would be best?

    David:

If you were coming at any other time of the year, I would suggest the new themed family suites at Art of Animation. With two bathrooms and ample space to spread out, it immerses guests from the moment you step into the lobby all the way to your room.  Best of all, you'll find the pool area equally well themed and in October the weather will be warm enough to enjoy it.

However, you said that Halloween was your favorite time of the year. I can think of no other resort on Disney property that makes that time of the year more fun than Fort Wilderness. Its cabins provide a separate bedroom with a double bed and two bunks along with a full kitchen and double Murphy bed in the living area. Its deck and grill sport enough space to make you feel like you have an additional third room.

Our family has spent many Halloween weekends and fall visits at the fort. Not only do visitors decorate their campsites but the cabins as well. You'll be greeted with inflatables, lit porches and the occasional spooky scene. Trick-or-treating is encouraged as guests walk the cabin and camping loops. The Headless Horseman visits Chip-n-Dale's Campfire Singalong and you can view some of Magic Kingdom's Hallowishes at the marina. Make your reservations soon as the fort fills up quickly.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
