Hi, My son is 15 and very interested in Animal Kingdom's Backstage Safari. When I read through the details it stated the tour is for 16 and older. Does this still apply and is it a hard line restriction?

    Hi Shirley,

Thanks for your question. I'm sorry to tell you that the Walt Disney World tours normally are pretty strict in adhering to the age limitations, which are set for safety reasons. You might call the tour booking number at (407) 939-8687 to double check, but I believe your son may have to wait until after his next birthday.

My best suggestion is to consider the Wild Africa Trek as an alternative. Guests between the ages of 8 and 18 may participate in the three-hour tour as long as they are accompanied by an adult. When I did the trek last year with some of my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends, we were accompanied by the 12-year-old son of one of our colleagues. He had a blast, and so did we.

Another thing to note: There's a $50 per person discount on the price of the trek now through late October if you take one of the afternoon tours. That's also what my friends and I did.

I hope that helps. Please let us know if we can answer any other planning questions for you. Enjoy!
