Hi,my familybooked 6nts wk of7/4/08 via westgate vac,pd the room & reserved 2 char dining, just need to get park tickets. Can I change/upgrade to diningplan and is it cheaper compare to paying the hotel, buying theme park tickets and meal plan separate

    Hi Leah,

I can not answer if it is cheaper to do those items separate because I am not familiar with the package you purchased. You can change and upgrade your tickets up to five days prior to check in. You just need to call back to the company that booked your reservation.

As for the savings on the meal plan portion, it depends on where you eat. If you are going to eat at restaurants like the Brown Derby, Le Cellier and the Artist Point, you will see a savings. Also, if you like to eat appetizers and desserts with your main meal, you will see a savings as well.  If you however like a simpler meal, you may not see as significant savings.

I would go to allearsnet.com and look at the menus of the restaurants you will be eating at and figure the cost of your meals. This will tell you approximately how much savings you will have.

I think in general a vacation package from Disney is a fair value. Unless you have an Annual Pass or are very diligent at looking for a bargain, you are going to do okay with a package from Disney itself. This is one area Disney has improved on from the past when you used to do better going a la carte with all the items for your trip. I know my parents and friends saved money having Disney book their trip.

Have a great trip and enjoy!
