    Chere Asked

Hi, My daughter will be 10 years old when we visit during spring break. Is she old enough to go parasailing? Are there any height or weight restrictions that we should be aware of? Thanks!

    Hi Chere!

I went parasailing with one of my sons at Disney's Contemporary Resort last summer & it was AWESOME!  We got one of the best views ever of the Magic Kingdom.

The minimum age to fly is 6 years old so your daughter is good to go. There isn't a minimum height requirement.  Fliers can go solo or tandem (2 people flying together). They require at least 130 lbs. & no more than 330 lbs. total weight in the parachute (that includes combined weights if flying tandem).

If your daughter doesn't weigh at least 130 lbs., she's going to need a tandem partner. Her partner can be anyone over the age of 6 years old as long as their combined weights is at least 130 lbs. & does not exceed 330 lbs.  Flyers under 18 years old must have an adult (over 18) present to sign a waiver prior to departing.

If your daughter goes up with someone other than you, please keep in mind that they take flyers first. The Parasail boat is certified to carry 6 guests at a time (that includes flyers).  If there is room, they can take family or friends of flyers to watch but riders are NOT guaranteed a spot.  There is no minimum age for guests going out as riders but each rider will need to complete a waiver form before departing.

I love parasailing & have done it in several places but this was one of my best experiences. It was the perfect place for my son's first experience. Captain Dave answered all of his questions so he was excited and ready to fly.  We did the 450 ft. flight for his first experience but as soon as we were finished he told me he was ready for the 600 ft. flight. We plan to do that this summer.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-)  Allison
