Hi, I'll be in WDW end of May 2012 with my husband, 6 year old girl and 4 year old twin boys. The boys' bedtime is usually 8pm-ish. Do you think it's worth having them stay up to watch Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios using the Fantasmic dinner deal?

    Hi Adrienne!

One of our biggest rules on our Disney vacations is trying to keep our children as close to their normal schedule as possible.  We try to make sure they take their naps and eat around the same time as home so everyone is well-rested and fully ready to enjoy the magic.

That being said, we always make an exception once or twice a trip for nighttime entertainment.  On the days we're planning on checking out Fantasmic! or fireworks, we will make sure the kids get some extra relax and rest time, whether it is hanging out by the pool or watching a movie in the room for a bit.

Also, we plan for the next day to be a "sleep in" day.  Most mornings, we're up early and at the parks at opening, but if we've stayed out later than normal the night before, we will take the next morning to relax at the pool or have a late breakfast.

For us, having our children experience Fantasmic! or Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is definitely worth it!  The amazement on their faces when they see the shows is priceless.  And, if we're being totally honest, I wouldn't want to miss out on seeing the shows, either!

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you make your vacation planning extra magical.
